On the Second Day

All things we know and see
come fom one God
a solitary God–
a lonely poet.

An empty cosmos
with no consciousness
to know His existence; alone.

God turns to creation,
like a master painter whose canvas
is the galaxy and His palette
shades of–love.

A cosmic canvas in Sol’s orbit
with intricate brustrokes and untold
colors pulsating with vitality,
like a heart beat.

Slowly this canvas makes
the invisible know, the unknown visible,
shows seedlings sprouting, fish walking,
monkeys talking–at a church service.

This canvas orbiting Sol becomes
God’s art show,
an exhibition of His self-fulfillment,
a solitary God turning into–
love.
